Baltimore Brazilian Jiu Jitsu | Modern Army Combatives

I want to hear everyone in the Baltimore Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Baltimore BJJ) scene’s opinion. I am currently a Level 1 instructor in Modern Army Combatives. I believe this program does a phenomenal job in establishing a base for grappling and self defense. Even with my experience in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (8 years Brown Belt) I learned some new concepts and cool drills.

So my question is have you trained in Modern Army Combatives and if so what are your opinions of it? Leave your response here or on my facebook fan page www.Facebook.com/BaltimoreMartialArts

And while youre there if you havent already please “Like” my fanpage. I am going to be doing a lot of cool stuff in the future on facebook and I wouldnt want you to miss out!

Baltimore Self Defense Instructor trains with a young Gracie!

Baltimore self defense instructor Steve Adornato trained with Reylan (pronounced Heylan), and Ryron (pronounced Hyron) Gracie on sunday morning. In addition to great moves shown by both Gracies, even more important was the philosophy on training that was presented. I will post some examples of this in the future. Visit our site frequently as I start posting videos explaining this philosophy! These are concepts that will apply whether you train for MMA, self defense, or gi Jiu Jitsu competitions. Reylan Gracie 300x178 Baltimore Self Defense Instructor trains with a young Gracie!

UFC, MMA, Self Defense Analysis by a Baltimore bound Gracie.

I could not agree more with Ryron and Rener Gracie in this video. There are major diffrences between true self defense and mixed martial arts (MMA). Ryron Gracie is traveling to the Baltimore Maryland area this weekend and I look forward to training with him and adding whatever I can into our self defense curriculum. In the mean time check out this excellent video of Ryron and Rener Gracie breaking down GSP vs Dan Hardy.
